Summer is finally here, and while things may be heating up for you and your partner, it’s important to keep things interesting under the sun. What better way to turn up the heat than with a unique date? Whether it’s the first stretch or your two-year anniversary, here are some ideas for an unforgettable experience that’s truly one-of-a-kind.

  1. Take them out to a ballgame – It’s baseball season, and if your partner is into athletics, a nice game under the warm weather would be perfect for both of you to enjoy. Whether your home team is in the big field or little leagues, it’s the perfect chance to bond over peanuts, catching fly-balls, and cheering for the same team.
  1. “Sea” the animals – Take a walk on the wild side! Find out your partner’s favorite animal, then check out your local zoo or aquarium to see if they have it in exhibition. Not only will your loved one be genuinely appreciative and excited, but you’ll get to see a “wild” side of them like never before. If there’s no zoo around, try boating or parasailing to make the day fun and adventurous!
  1. Enjoy a breathtaking view – A spontaneous hike to a gorgeous lookout point or around the woods will not only get you two in shape, but it will give you both a rare chance to get to know one another in nature’s beautiful setting. Even if it’s just a jog around the park, make it a routinely thing! Couples that exercise together are naturally comfortable and look good together.
  1. Listen to the good stuff – Summertime means breezy weather, starry nights and good music. Check if your partner’s favorite band or artist is playing at your local venue, and grab the soonest available tickets. Surprise them with their favorite song. You’ll get the award for best girlfriend hands-down plus it would make their list of best dates ever, guaranteed.

Keep it simple and take charge – For the more lenient vibe, plan ahead to make your lover dinner, rent a movie, and just relax and enjoy each other’s company! According to dating advice experts at Match.com, guys like bold, daring women who can take the reigns every once in a while. Jillian Straus, author of Unhooked Generation: The Truth About Why We’re Still Single, says about men, “Guys want to do the right thing. If you have a preference for where you want to go or what kind of food you want to eat, and he asks, tell him. It takes the pressure off him and lets him make you happy”.  Taking charge, even if it means just hanging out at home, might be the sweetest (and least expensive) thing ever. Also, traits that women look for in guys, and gals, include sensitivity and spontaneity; “Fancy nights out, candlelit baths and spur of the moment gifts. In other words romantic.”
In other words, all your partner really wants is you!
