It is not easy to design, create, and bring to life a vision. Some lack the ability to take that first step in turning their imaginable passion into a reality. For designer and fashionista Ellie Snow, however, she did just that.

Snow has her very own blog, which features “Hello Tenfold,” a handmade stationary line she began in 2008. Her various ideas and creations range from recipes, to interior design, and – our favorite – fashion. Snow has always enjoyed coming up with a new outfit for every new day, she claims it is “exciting to look in the closet and pair things that haven’t been paired before… almost as exciting as a shopping trip. Almost.” Snow has a billion fresh and fun ideas – it’s hard to keep up! Her inspiration of pattern, color, and vintage ephemera has helped to develop her incredible sense of style and poise.

“For me, design is always a series of happy accidents! It’s good to make time to play and just see what happens,” she says. On her blog, Snow creates her own fashion series in which a certain style is embodied. Her latest series, “Outfitted,” was inspired by her assistant Katelyn, who like Snow, has a fabulous but practical sense of style. “Outfitted has a different theme each week. One week it’s stripes, than florals, and maybe next it’s pastels. For the most part, the styles are comfortable, casual, and with the right amount of pattern.”

On top of keeping up an immaculate stationary line and glamorous blog, Snow must also focus on her own unique style. She loves vintage and timeless looks. “I like how vintage finds are more unique and unusual, and there’s always the thrill of the hunt. My favorite pieces are things that have been passed down from my grandmothers, aunt, and mom. I guess I’ve got a serious sentimental side!” Those one-of-a-kind looks, as well as that unforgettable aged-musk are simply unbeatable. To put a modern twist on these vintage findings, Snow adds bold scarves, trendy belts, jewelry and shoes. Along with her courageous vintage style, Snow is also classically simple. “I tend to like darker, neutral colors, and I seem to gravitate toward jeans paired with patterned tops.” Sometimes the old saying “less is more” comes to be incredibly accurate.

The LBD is this fashionista’s biggest asset. Snow’s little black dress which she pairs with tights and boots is her “go-to outfit this year.” Snow also loves accessories, and when she’s not wearing the ones passed down from her grandma, she scores her best deals at flea markets and thrift stores. She never leaves the house without her pair of faceted gold studs in her ears and, yes this counts, Chapstick in her pocket. Ellie sticks to Gap for the basics and Anthropologie for fun tops and dresses. Her personal style can best be described as flattering and comfortable pieces inspired by classic cuts.

Confidence looks great on everybody, and it is key to a healthy lifestyle. Everyone needs that extra “oompf” to boost their confidence, and Snow shared with us what does it for her. ”Fresh air, sunshine, exercise, a good haircut, and occasionally “dressing up” a little more than is necessary. I find that running my own business is challenging and confidence-boosting, all at once.”  Confidence is the number one trick to looking absolutely radiant from head to toe. We need to remember that no matter how cute the outfit, or how stunning the shoes… you need to sprinkle a little confidence on your look to make it drop-dead-divine. “I think many women (men, too!) tend to focus on the negative things when they look in the mirror. I’m always trying to work on that habit, and focus on the things I love about myself before leaving the house in the morning — even finding one thing, like “hey, my hair looks cute!” is a good way to start the day.”
