Organic Food 101
According to dictionary.com, organic is defined as; noting or pertaining to a class of chemical compounds that formerly comprised only those existing in or derived from plants or animals. In simpler terms, organic food contains on the raw ingredients from nature. If it can not be found in nature, it is not organic.

Organic food does not just give you glowing skin, silky hair and a dewy complexion. It also enhances the functioning of your body for the better. The food you consume is processed and delivered to the organs of the body. When candy is consumed, the artificial chemicals form the core of nutrients sent to your skin, muscles, nerves and other organs. When an apple is consumed, the vitamins raw nutrients are sent to the organs. It is plain and clear; the organic food wins out. It provides better nerve functioning and stronger organs. The body is confused by artificial ingredients and doesn’t know what to do with them. The body treats them like normal nutrients and fuels your body with these fake chemicals. The result? The body gets stressed and inflamed because it is trying to work with a substance it is not familiar with. Make it easier on your body and nurture it with with organic foods. The vitamins and minerals found in organic foods contribute to hair and skin growth. This translates into luscious locks and clear skin.
Organic Meals to try at home
Eating organically does not have to be an obstacle in life. It should provide enjoyment! Here are some delicious organic meal ideas:
Breakfast – Yogurt and Oats
Organic Greek yogurt (Chobani is a well known brand)
1 handful of mixed nuts or nut butter
Grain based cereal (Try the Kashi brand)
Dash of cinnamon
Mix the yogurt, nuts, and cereal together in a bowl. Add the sliced bananas to the top along with a dash on cinnamon. This is a perfect organic breakfast when time is tight in the morning!
Lunch – Tortilla Pizza Roma
1 whole grain tortilla
1 tablespoon tomato sauce
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
½ cup spinach
1 sliced tomato
Spread the tomato sauce on the tortilla and drizzle with olive oil. Next, sprinkle on the cheddar cheese and add the oregano and basil on top. Put in the microwave for one to two minutes or until cheese is melted. Add spinach and sliced tomatoes.
Dinner – Spinach Tofu Salad Delight
1-2 cups of spinach
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 teaspoons vinegar
½ cup sliced onions
1 tablespoon dried cranberries
1 cup of cooked tofu (try flavoring with different spices)
2 teaspoons sunflower seeds
1 tablespoon broccoli
Once you have acquired the ingredients, simply mix them together in a bowl for a delicious go-to organic dinner.
Dessert – Warm Agave Banana A la Mode
1 banana sliced
Place the banana slices in a bowl. Sprinkle them with cinnamon and drizzle with Agave nectar. Put it in the microwave for one minute for comforting organic delight.
The old adage “you are what you eat” still rings true today. Organic food provides the basis for a cleansed mind and body and a youthful spirit and daily existence.
