Here is a list of things you should have on hand:
- Think beyond the normal purse essentials
Every girl has a purse or bag that has things she may need in it while she is out — aside from the essential things like a wallet or a phone. Make sure to have some just-in-case items stashed. For example, have extra tampons and a pain reliever for unexpected cramps or headaches (Advil works well for this because it will work for both cramps and a headache).
- Time for a touch-up
Many times we find ourselves wishing we had put on just a little more eye shadow because it has faded or messed up our perfectly put-on lipstick because we decided to have some drinks. We all want to look perfect on our dates so be sure to pack some sexy touch-up items. Touch-up make up like Chap Stick, lip gloss or lip stick, and eye shadow are great items to have on hand.
You may also want to have a small bottle of lotion because soft hands are always a good thing — the soap in restaurants may dry out your hands. Also be sure to pack some breath mints in case you snag a goodbye kiss!
Lip Color Tip: if you have trouble keeping that perfect colour on your lush lips, invest in some long lasting lip stick or stain — it can be sexy to leave some lip marks on your date at the end of the night. It is not sexy to be worrying about rubbing off your color on your cup and reapplying it during the middle of your date!
- Safety First
Safety plans are always a great thing to have on a first date because — let’s face it — sometimes they go terribly. Make sure you have your charged cell on you so that you can call a cab or a friend if the date does not go as well as you hoped. Sometimes dates can go perfect: in case you find yourself in a hot lust–filled night, make sure you bring your preferred form of contraceptives. Condoms are small and easy to hide in a zippered pocket in your purse.
As nervous as you may be this is a potential lover! Relax and be confident! You are beautiful and worth it, so spend your time making a connection instead of worrying about little things. Take a deep breath, be yourself, and have fun!
- Comfortable Shoes
We all love our heels and they certainly can put an outfit together nicely. Make sure you buy a heel that you can walk around in. Platforms or wedges are a good place to start; they even out the height of the heel and take pressure off the balls of your feet, making them easy to wear and are super stylish. If your date is running a little long or you just cannot take your heels any longer, you can always stash a pair of ballet slippers in your purse — many of them come with little bags to fold them into so that they fit compactly in your bag.
Remember, first dates may bring on the butterflies but they are an opportunity to get to know someone new and have some fun! Have fun, be safe, and stay beautiful readers!
